What is the protocol for wearing the mini-medals on a civilian formal wear at a formal function ( i.e. an Inaugural Ball)?

CAPM 39-1 restricts members from wearing awards and decorations on civilian clothing. CAP medals and ribbons will be worn only by CAP members for whom they have been authorized and only on those uniforms outlined in CAPM 39-1. There are a number of CAP Lapel Pins available from Vanguard which might be worn on civilian formal wear. Miniature medals are mandatory when wearing the AF style mess dress uniform (men and women). Also one miniature medal of choice may be worn on the CAP semiformal blazer uniform.
